Plant Trees, Save Future (Project LSC)

This Tree Planting Activity in Brgy. Cavite, Alangalang, Leyte was held in hopes of not only raising awareness of what our planet needs to heal and thrive, but also to start the regeneration of the diminishing population of forests locally. There has been a dire need for reforestation in numerous areas in the locality of Alangalang and in the Philippines as a whole due to the blatant disregard of the general populace for the well-being of nature.
The project was implement near the riverbank of Mainit River located at Brgy. Cavite, Alangalang, Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines. The project was conceptualized and executed in coordination with multiple government and non-government agencies. As a joint effort, this project was proven a success with the contribution of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines - Leyte Council - Alangalang National High School as facilitators and participants of the tree planting activity.
The benefactors of this project were mainly the residents of Brgy. Cavite, Alangalang, Leyte. There has been a dwindling amount of forest area and greenery near the riverbanks where most residents do chores and recreational activities. The trees planted will benefit the young generation of residents who are growing up.
Co-heading this project with different municipal agencies gave way to lots of practical negotiation skill learning. Interacting with professionals allowed the lead scouts an environment to showcase leadership and cooperative skills. A way to improve future projects like this would be to involve more of the members of the agencies who are involved in the said project.
