"Plant Trees Save the Environment"
We were inspired by the serious impact of river erosion in our area, Barguna. Seeing how it affects people’s homes and land, we wanted to do something meaningful. As a team of 15, we decided to plant date palm seeds along the riverbank, knowing their strong roots can help prevent erosion. Our goal was to protect the environment and support our community, guided by our values as scouts and responsible citizens.
We chose a vulnerable riverbank area in Barguna and collected date palm seeds. As a team of 15, we prepared the soil, planted the seeds in rows, and made sure they were spaced well for strong growth. We also regularly checked on them, watered them when needed, and protected them from damage.
We learned that even planting simple seeds like date palms can be powerful when done with care. Nature needs patience, and teamwork is essential. We also saw how small steps can create lasting change for our environment and community.
