Path for continuous improvement
Our last NSO strategy was with duration from 2014-2020. Due the pandemic and emergency programme adaptation, shortening of staff, focus on retention of membership, our NSO did not menage to develop new strategy. Having said this, this project will directly address the need of new strategy for setting directions, identify mission and vision for the upcoming period which will be baseline for further organizational development and growth.
Scout Association of Macedonia started a MoP funded project for organizational development that addresses the current need for developing NSO strategy for the period 2023-2030. In addition, beside the strategy, the NSO developed new visual identity and brand that will go in-line with the new strategy. During the project a methodology was developed that included surveys, focus groups and working weekends and included all stakeholders and NSO bodies
During the process of strategic planning we realized that a lot of young members and volunteers never participated in similar processes. It was a good practice to be guided by a third party expert during the process and working weekends, it eliminated prejudice of opinions from lack of experience and it allowed everyone to feel free to express themselves. The whole process was a learning experience for the team as well as everyone included.
