Park Cleaning Programme At Loco Colony

Earlier, all the families of the area used to send their children in the only park of the area and themselves also used to come to spend some time in the park but when the park became very dirty, they stopped coming there, which had a direct effect on them and also on the children's physical as well as mental health because of which those children started getting sick again and again that is why we take up this project and decided to clean the park for all the people and animals living there.

The project was implemented in the area of Railway Loco Colony, Purba Bardhaman. All members of my team were asked to carry atleast one broom, one basket, one set of and cloves, one big polythene (for the collection of unnecessary garbage) and bleaching powder. We started the project by collecting all the non-destructive litter like plastic scattered in the park first. Then we started the cleaning programme in which some people from the whole community came to support us as well as they could.

After the successful completion of this project, we saw that the people living there have again started sending their children to the park and themselves have started going there too. And now those people also started keeping that park clean. And those people decided by our request that since those people will clean the park and the way outside the park one day a week. They also promised us that they will start gardening in the park for decorating it and also repair the damaged taps too

During the project execution we got a good response from the society which inspired as well as motivated us. The biggest learning which we got from the the project is that doing our best towards the growth and development of the community and its people gives different kind of peace to us. The most important challenge for us was not just to clean the park but it was to aware the people living there about their role towards the community by protecting all the public properties in their locality.
