Paddy Cultivation

Paddy Cultivation

Mr. Deavendra Ghalley and Mrs. Purna Maya Ghalley live happily with their four children at Dipujora (New: Dhamzhagsa) in Samtse under Norbugang gewog. They make their living by growing cardamom, bettle nut and rice as cash/food crop. Although Mr. Deavendra Ghalley was visually impaired at the age of 20, he works equally with his wife in the field to make a living and also to send their children to school.

This year, Community Based Scouts (Phen Taab Troop---Sowers Troop) helped the family in paddy cultivation for a day. As their culture, the villagers were also there to help in cultivation. There were 8 scouts for voluntary service with aroud 13 non-scouts. The family expressed their gratitude for helping them in paddy cultivation, 2019.
