Our Reading Volunteers (PRABUHIS) read for a hundred cubs in a public park in Bandung today (3/10/13)
This cozy warm Thursday afternoon, 13 Bandung's Prabuhis (Indonesian Reading Volunteering Scouts) decide to read for a hundred (or more) cubs from several elementary schools in Bandung, in the end of their "playing" scout activity in a public park called "Taman Lalu Lintas" in Bandung.
This loving deed was triggered by how much they love to play with their gadget (even during scouting) and talked about their online games. We hope 2 humble hours of reading to them will make a different. Anyway, it was a warm interactions, for cubs usually do not interact with rovers in one scouting event. The volunteers as rover found their "feeling good" moment after doing it, and the cubs experienced a new kind of scouting activity; listen to their big brothers or sisters reading to them stories, poems and knew knowledges.
It's a nice learning process for both groups, but the main reason was: It's FUN!
Of course we will do it again ;)
