Observation of VAN MAHOTSAV-2024
The present conditions of the environment and the lack of greenery in our surrounding was our sole motivation for initiating these actions . The literal meaning of “Van Mahotsav” can be deduced to “A Forest-Festival”, an event celebrated by the Indian community throughout the world with the central theme of planting trees and to encourage people to become more active in environmental conservation efforts so that we can help mitigate the impact of climate change and conserve the environment
As resolved by the group discussion held among the members of the district association, it was decided that a Poster making competition, an Awareness Rally, D2D Campaign, a Sapling plantation drive and a Street Play with the theme “EACH ONE– PLANT ONE” will be organized on 3RD, 4TH, 5TH , 6TH and 7TH of July respectively for observing the occasion of Van Mahotsav and spreading awareness on the importance of greenery around us
Throughout the project we understood the urgency of taking action for our environment. We learnt that everyone has the basic idea for conservation of environment but just for the sole comfort of their lifestyle they choose to ignore the hazard posed to the environment and continue their harmful practices that is destroying the environment at an alarming rate. We also understood the need for introducing various substitutes for major pollutants like plastic, etc. for preserving our environment
