Observance of World No Tobacco Day - 2023

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on 31 May. The annual observance informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what the World Health Organization (WHO) is doing to fight against the use of tobacco, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations.
A team of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Northeast Frontier Railway, Tinsukia District Association performed a Nukkad Natak at New Tinsukia Railway Station to aware the public about the harmfulness of consuming tobacco. The team also raised awareness through the PA system of the Railway Station.
More than 100 passengers (Non-Scout) spectated the the Nukkad Natak and got aware about the harmfulness of tobacco. They also took pledge with us to avoid tobacco and raise awareness regarding the same.
We also looked forward to carry the awareness through social media to create more impact on it.
