" National Scouts Day & Messengers of Peace Gathering on Founder' s Day in Bhutan
2650 Scouts participated in the three day event in commemoration of Founder' day, Patron' birth day and MoP gathering in eastern part of Bhutan. The event was organized in collaboration with the District Administration of the far flung eastern District.
150 Officials from Bhutan Scouts Association and Volunteers prepared the ground for the grand celebration from 18-20 February contributing about 8 hours per day. (150 x 3 days x 8 hours= 3600 hours)
More than 3000 people (2500 Scouts from 11 schools, 150 volunteers and officials from BSA and District, non scouts, police personnel, monks, district officials, farmers, and people of all walks of life participated in the three day event from 21-23 February 2017. (2650 x 8 x 3 days= 63600 hours )
The three day event was organized with the theme to reaffirm our commitment to serve our nation and people with utmost sincerity and dedication. To renew our scout promise and the law.
Various events and activities such as scout fun games, water games, food stalls, scout exhibitions, air gun shooting, fishing, hoopla, jumble sale and etc were organized during the three day event.
A day was dedicated to inform the gathering about the significance of MOP Initiatives. People were informed about the importance of mop and how they can contribute toward peace building activities in their region. Films and documentaries were shown in the evenings to inspire young people. 37 Community Based Scouts consisting of school teachers, civil servants and farmers were inducted as Scout members on the day.
