NATIONAL LEVEL OPEN UNIT RALLY

National Level Open Unit Rally was held at NER Senior Secondary School, Gorakhpur from 9th - 13th January, 2015 in which 195 participants and staff from Bihar, Chattishgarh, Eastern Railway, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, N. E. Railway, N. F. Railway, Northern Railway, Odissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Southern Railway, Uttarpradesh, Uttrakhand, West Bengal and Western Railway participated. The Rally was started in the afternoon of 9th January, in a traditional way through Flag ceremony followed by integration session and inputs on objectives of the rally. Sessions on Image and visibility, Fund raising, Community Service and Community Development Project, Swachh Bharat-Sundar Bharat initiative, PM Shield competitions, Upa-Rashtrapati Award, Project ‘Free Being Me’ and ‘Messenger of Peace’ were conducted with the help of audio visual aids which was actively interacted by the participants. Street drama Competition on Swachh Bharat-Sundar Bharat, Folk Dance, Poster making, Slogan writing, Extempore lecture, competitions were conducted during the Rally. A Padayatra was also organized, participants formed a Human Chain in front of Gorakhpur Railway Station and performed Street drama on Swach Bharat-Sundar Bharat in different corner as a awareness programme which was appreciated by one and all. They also visited Rail Museum on way to camp site. On 152nd Birth day of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in a befitting manner by the participants and a Youth Forum was held Grand camp was held in spite of very chilled weather participants actively participated and put up a magnificat show. Mr. Rakesh Tripathi, State Chief Commissioner, North Eastern Railway State graced the occasion as Chief Guest and blessed the participants. In his speech he appreciates the performance of the participants and highlighted about the International aspects of Scouting Guiding Mementos and prizes were awarded by him. The Rally was conducted by Shri S. S. Ray, Assistant Director, Eastern Region with the assistance of invited staff members from N. E. Railway, Uttrakhand and Uttarpradesh States.
