Nandhambakkam Green Initiative

The project was inspired by our commitment to environmental sustainability and the need to increase green cover in adopted villages. Through the joint efforts of the Sairam Scouts District Association, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), and Scouts for SDGs, we aimed to encourage community participation, promote climate action, and instill environmental responsibility by planting for a greener future.

The project was executed by the Sairam Scouts District Association in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and Scouts for SDGs. Scout members and UBA volunteers coordinated with the local community, identified suitable plantation sites, arranged 50 samplings, planting materials, and conducted the plantation drive. Participants were also educated on sapling care to ensure long-term growth and sustainability.

This project taught us the importance of teamwork, environmental stewardship, and community engagement in achieving sustainable development goals. We learned that small actions, such as planting and caring for saplings, can create lasting environmental impact. The initiative also strengthened our leadership, planning, and volunteer management skills while inspiring us to continue contributing towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
