MOP BUILD-UP IN FIJI
As there was a lack of awareness in the school levels in the four Divisions apart from main districts regarding the initiatives of MOP in Fiji and also no knowledge of loading service projects in the scout.org platform, I implemented the project called "MOP BUILD-UP". Although, they have heard about MOP, but they seemed not much interested as they simply are not much aware of its vision and missions. In addition, poor internet connections and the geographical distance of some of the districts in Fiji also contribute to this problem. Likewise, to build a stronger MOP network in the whole of Fiji and let the leaders realize the importance of PEACE within us, within our family members, in our communities and in Fiji as a whole and at the same time learn and plan for more MOP initiatives for Fiji, this project was implemented successfully.
Apart from all the MOP district MOP Coordinators, scout leaders that are registered under Fiji Scouts Association and non-scouts, we believe that this project greatly benefited those scouts in rural districts of Fiji who do not have internet connections and who live in difficult conditions to meet their daily needs. Directly, we were able to target scouts, students and teachers of the schools where scouting was not so active. In addition to this, more MOP registrations and more project uploads increased with service hours.
The following were the activities that were undertaken as MOP Build-up project with actions and outcomes:
ACTIVITY 1 – TITLE: MOP Peace Camp

MOP initiative and helped each other acquire knowledge and skills in the promotion of MOP Network and Project Management towards effective implementation of the initiative in their own scouting districts in Fiji.
