Messengers of Peace Heroes Award 2019

Each year, the Messengers of Peace Hero Award recognize Scouts from around the world for their exceptional contribution to local communities through a Scout service project. The Messengers of Peace (MoP) programme is an initiative by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which along with the Scouts of the World Award and the World Scout Environment Programmes form the Better World Framework programme.

 

This year, 15 Scouts from around the world were selected to receive the Messengers of Peace Heroes Award 2019 that was held in Kuwait on 30th October 2019 to 5th November 2019. Out of the 15 scouts awarded the MoP Heroes Award, an individual from Malaysia has been selected as the recipient of the MoP Heroes award for his outstanding contribution to the development of the environment in Malaysia. His service has been recognized by the MoP Initiative and he has received world recognition as the MoP Heroes.

 

Aliff Ajwad Bin Marzuki (24), a member of Duta Rovers Wangsa Maju, Scouts Association of Malaysia, also holds a position in national level as the National Headquarters Commissioner at a young age in the organization. He has shown that everything can be achieved with the courage to move forward as well as the unwavering efforts to help restore the environment and help the local community. He has been awarded the MoP Heroes award by Mohammad Nasir Al-Jabri the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Altraiji the Secretary-General of Kuwait Boys Scout Association, and Cynthia Marquez and Jacob Murray the representative from World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

 

In line with the award, he is now appointed as the ambassador for WOSM the MoP and Scouts For SDGs initiative where he received training as a Scouts For SDGs trainer and Youth Representative training during his 5 days in Kuwait at the Youth Representatives, Scouts For SDGs Training of Trainer and Messengers of Peace Heroes Award 2019 in Arab Region.
