To help cancer patients that in need while surviving COVID-19.
This program is organized by the National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) and assisted by the Scout Association of Malaysia, Sabah Branch under Pensiangan District. The program aims to deliver food aid to low-income cancer patients in several districts in Sabah such as Keningau, Tenom, Kemabong, Sook, Nabawan, Tambunan, Ranau, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Papar and Beaufort.
This project benefits nearly 70 cancer patients of various stages from low-income families and is expected to impact over 350 households in various districts in the Interior and the South West Coast of Sabah. It is hoped that this assistance will be able to ease their burden, especially in the face of difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project opens the eyes of the participants to see the surrounding situation and gives the volunteer a first-hand opportunity to serve and comfort those who are less fortunate, in this case, cancer patients and their families. The simple act of giving creates and fosters a love for others. Their willingness to share time and energy is expected to provide contentment and self-satisfaction for all the volunteers involved.
