Lusaka Scouts Celebrate Youth Day in Action

42 Lusaka Scouts from three troops; Matero, Otherside and Heroes groups celebrated the Youth day in style by instead of matching, cleaning the surrounding of a famous market area known as Kamwala and later on cleaning the premises at which the other youths celebrated the day with Government official at the Freedom Statue.

In line with the Presindetial Keep Lusaka Clean Campaign embarked on by President Edgar Changwa Lungu who is the Scouts Patron in the Country, the  scouts decided to take action instead of going to match.

On many occasions Lusaka and other cities have been hit by the water borne disease Cholera leading to President Lungu starting the Keep Lusaka Clean Campaign which many citizens observe by cleaning their environments a day every month.

Upon realizing that scouts had taken the initiative without requesting for any help from authorities, many citizens, and organizations joined in including the city council that brought dump trucks to pick the garbage.

The scouts have promised to make this their monthly activity in the city as their way of contributing to the controlling of disease outbreaks.
