Public littering has long been an environmental issue of the world. It is widely recognized as an on-going global problem with several implications on human health and the integrity of the environment. Despite countries enforced anti-littering laws, the states have serious problems with citizen who refuse to follow the law and disregard instructions. The impacts of littering is alarming and disturbing. It has adverse environmental and socioeconomic impacts that leave long-term negative effects. Hazardous chemicals from plastics poisons soils, ecosystems and harming wildlife. Soils become infertile unable to grow crops and plants also harming crops we eat. In water, impacts of plastic pollution through ingestion and entanglement of marine fauna are well documented. While in air, hazardous chemicals and gases are released which contributes to climate change and air pollution. The actions of humanity over 10 years will determine the state of the ocean and marine life for the next 10, 000 years to come.
