Litter less Project

On the 5th of March 2023, the 6th Pretoria St. Andrews Rover Crew set out to clean up their beloved park at their hall and its surrounding roads. Our troop from meerkats to scouts and rovers use the park and surrounding roads for outdoor camps, wide games and much more. This is another motivation for us to keep the area clean so that no one is harmed due to broken glass or other rubbish. We also want to keep our community clean as it is the place where we take most pride in.
We started cleaning up our and surrounding roads by picking up any rubbish that we found. we separated the rubbish and then went and threw it away in our local recycling bins.
Our project benefited our troop and surrounding communities. Keeping our space clean helps the community keep a positive attitude about their living space and they also take pride in where they live. Our troop benefited from our clean up because we often use the land surrounding our hall and there was a lot of glass that could potentially hurt someone.
We learnt that even though cleaning up our environment takes time and dedication and we might not get all the rubbish we are still making a difference in our community.
