Litter Less - Out fight against the mess!

The Litter Less Campaign and the extent of the litter.
We decided that we should start at "home" for our project, so we cleared the open plots of land around our scout hall including the municipal embankment, pavement across the road and the small park area next to the storm water way. We gathered as a group (Meerkats, Cubs and Scouts) and picked up all the litter we could find, packed into bags and asked the local community leaders to help us dispose of it correctly.
We feel it will impact hundreds of people who use these streets and walkways.
We learned that not everyone cares about our planet as much as we do but if we stick together, we can make a change. More public dustbins are needed, these also need to be emptied by the council on a regular basis and education around pollution would go a long way.
