LIAISON OFFICER FOR GILWELL REUNION / WORLD BADGE CENTENARY (1919-2019) BRUNEI

The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) organised the ‘Gilwell Reunion’ in conjunction with the celebration of the World Wood Badge Centenary at the Multipurpose Hall of the PPNBD Headquarters in Jalan Gadong and the Guest of honour is the former training commissioner of PPNBD Pengiran Haji Tajudin bin Pengiran Ahmad officiated. As the resevation register / roster register for this event that responsible for the accuracy of the reservation register / roster and doing promotion for PPNBD.

Training Commissioner of PPNBD presented the ‘2 beads’ of Wood Badge to 15 Scout leaders who successfully passed their tests to become Trained Scout Leader and also in attendance were President of PPNBD Haji Matussin bin Orang Kaya Sura Haji Tuba, PPNBD Chief Commissioner Haji Badar bin Haji Ali, Deputy National Scout Chief Commissioner in his capacity as the Sabah State Scout Chief Commissioner Dr Zaini bin Suntim, Sarawak State Scout Commissioner Captain Zainuddin bin Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hamdan Sirat, and Federal Territory of Labuan Scout Chief Commissioner Hong Heng Chee.

A total of 150 Wood Badge holders comprising Scout Commissioners, Scout Leaders, Adult in Scouting from the Scouts Association of Malaysia from Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan as well as from the Singapore Scouts Association participated with the ceremony also saw a Scout Games, an exhibition, ‘swap activity’ and a Scout Badges sale with this year’s theme ‘Years of Shaping Leader’, the gathering aimed to strengthen ties among the Wood Badge holders and exchange ideas on scout leadership training. The Gillwell Reunion with the theme, 'Years of Shaping Leader' is also targeting adult scouts to give the personal support and training needed for an adult member to help the youth in terms of care and development through several aspects such as physical, emotional, spiritual, intellect and social through a progressive value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Laws Since the establishment of the Brunei Scout Association in 1933.
