Leprosy Control Programme

Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium Leprae. Man is the only source for Mycobacterium Leprae. It is transmitted from untreated Multi Bacillary patient to another via the respiratory tract or skin. The major sites from which Bacilli escape from the body of an infectious patient are the nose and mouth. Under Prime Minister Shield Competion, Rashtrapati Gudies as a part of Sustained Community Development Activity should work at least for 6 months on any of the topics provided on Conservation/Literacy/ Small savings/Health etc. I along with my fellow mates went to a Hospital speacially made for Leprosy affected people and we worked there as mentioned in the APRO Part-III. I Worked for 3 hours a day for 48 days in 6 months Service hours = 48days x 3 hours = 144 On Health i.e, Leprosy Control Programme. I rendered the above service LEPROSY CONTROL PROGRAMME under Prime Minister Shield Competition is approved & COH on 28 August 2013 as the requirement of Rashtrapati Guide award according to APRO Part-III
