Khidmat Komuniti Pembersihan Pantai

OBJECTIVE

  1. Creating a clean, cheerful and safe beach environment to visit.
  2. Raise public awareness of the importance of preserving and conserving coastal waters.
  3. Increase the accountability of all parties in preserving and conserving coastal waters.
  4. Educate the public on the negative effects of the use of plastic on the marine ecosystem in line with existing initiatives.
  5. Cultivate the values ​​of harmony in the sea so that the life that inhabits it can feel the peace of life in a clean state.

 

STORY OF THE EVENT

            On 25 September 2020, Khidmat Komuniti Pembersihan Pantai program was held at Pantai Puteri Melaka in conjunction with the International Peace Month celebration. This program is organized by the Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia Daerah Alor Gajah. The program received participation from 10 adult Scouts and 10 independent youths. The program runs from 8 am to 12 noon.

            A total of 10 plastic bags of garbage have been collected on the shores of Pantai Puteri and about 30 kilograms garbage were successfully collected. Among the types of garbage collected are plastic bottles, shabby plastic, bad slippers, empty cans, polystyrene, glass bottles and food wrappers. Garbage collected is sorted by category for the purpose of facilitating the process of recycling and disposal and placed in the place provided by the Coastal Municipal Council.

            This program is implemented to give awareness to all for maintain cleanliness, prevent pollution at sea and on land. In addition, this program can foster and apply the value of peace in a clean life for every life on earth.

            The certificate presentation session and closing ceremony were officiated by the Alor Gajah District Commissioner and accompanied by the Assistant District Commissioner (Programme) and Assistant District Commissioner (Messengers of Peace). It is hoped that this program will continue to be implemented for all ages to maintain the peace in life that we have all enjoyed so far.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

  1. Enables participants to connect directly with the community and help them to go through life in peace.
  2. Implemented the program successfully even though the world suffered a Covid-19 attack.
  3. Provide awareness to participants about the importance of peace in community life.
  4. Can help the homeless to some extent for them to feel the pleasure of peace that has been there all this time.
