Keeping our City Clean

1st Vincent Cub Pack decided to take up the Scouts SA National Cub Challenge 2023. Part of the challenge was a litter clean-up. As a pack, we participated in 3 different litter clean-up during the period.
The first litter clean-up was in conjunction with the Cambridge West home owners community. The second litter clean-up was at the venue of the District hike. The third litter clean-up was a District event whereby all the Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts and families participated in a litter clean-up along the Gonubie beachfront.
Cambridge West has about 10000 residents, and Gonubie about 60000 residents. The Gonubie beachfront a popular tourist spot within the East London area. In both cases, the local residents were all smiles and many messages of thank you were directed at all the participants.
Litter clean-ups are time consuming and there is way more litter lying around than one sees with the eyes. The Cubs thoroughly enjoy helping out the communities and making it a better place.
