The day was started with an Environment briefing by People's Association representatives on the impact of man-made trash had on the environment and its wildlife.

Was told that styrofoam takes 50 years to break down, while a baby diaper can takes up to 400 years. Organised by Water-Venture Sembawang, the group collected >50 kgs worth of trash that was washed up onto the shore of Seletar Island. The most common trash were styrofoam packaging, plastic food wrappers, PET drink bottles, and plastic bags. The total distance travelled was 2.6km to and fro.
