Kabiling Lunhaw (Green Legacy)

What started out as an idea too wild to consider at a tender age is now being slowly molded to reality. An initiative form originally by scouts, Kabiling Lunhaw is now composed of passionate young people with different backgrounds who share the common goal- the protection of our environment.

Project Kabiling Lunhaw is an initiative formulated by the Boy Scouts of Tagbilaran City Science High School together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in order to combat the effects of the changing climate, it will also serve as an avenue for the Boholano people to take action within their own community by means of planting trees. The partnership with DENR ensures that this program is going to be completed with the highest quality standards. It also highlights the importance of planting trees because nowadays the act has been a rather mainstream activity, therefore, to breathe life into the mindset of the local people, a massive reforestation movement is organized. The project aims to plant a total of, but not limited to, 10 000 native trees in the province with seedlings ranging from shore-based mangroves to upland trees. Planting sites were chosen using statistical data regarding the biodiversity of that area and the environmental impact it may ensue. The project works by gathering a group of remarkable people who are willing and dedicated to make change by sharing their time, talent, and treasure for the environment. The planting process is divided into Sponsors are highly crucial in the success of the project as they are the ones who would supply the financial requirements for the seedlings. The Outfit serves merely as a guide or an organizer between DENR and the sponsors. In other words, the organizers stay true to their objective which is to gather a group of remarkable people
