Junk collection 2022

As human beings, it is our responsibility to help ourselves. garbage encroaches on our ecosystems and seriously affects our planet. Much of the problem seems to come in the form of microplastics, small pieces of plastic. Subsequent recycling of plastic bottles, etc will eliminate millions of microplastics from the oceans. Also, shifting our mindset to recognize that small tasks bring us one step closer to the solution can be a great motivator for change.
This project was organized in our community on Sunday 26th June 2022. The Boy Scouts were divided into groups and assigned to different houses. Scrap and unused items, books, etc. were collected door to door and there was a spot setting. It was a five hour activity involving 70 Scouts. Scrap items collected were sold to scrap dealers, cash was given to NGOs that help the homeless organize food, and books were distributed to students in need.

Learnings i get from this project were no matter how small things look it usually end up in a big pile.most of our collected items were one time use plastic items.we have to start using alternatives and also aware other people how to adapt plastic free life.
