The Scouts and Ventures with the leaders of Yokohama Group 84 have participated in JOTA-JOTI for the first time.

We have participated the JOTA-JOTI event for only three hours on Sunday afternoon, but it was a great success.

We were able to connect with Malaysia's Scout team and two groups of Taiwan's Cub team through Skype, and our scouts were very happy, especially with Malaysian scouts who were of the same age.

Although we were a bit worried whether we could make contact for the first time, but with a support from my colleagues, we were able to prepare for communication with Taiwan group with Skype in a short time.

Another reason for this huge success was that when Skype was connected, English-speaking leader has supported the conversation of scouts and lead them toward the fun subject. We have found that even with the English level of junior high school was sufficient to communicate each other, and the conversation of scouts were carried out in a good pace.

This action relaxed the scouts' tension and allowed them to have a conversation without a leader.

This was our first challenge, but thanks to a lot of support, we have finished the JOTA-JOTI in a huge success.

At the end, there were some scouts who said, "Maybe I should study Malaysian."
