Introducing Rovering in Malaysia to Scouts in Taiwan
I was invited by the General Association of the Scouts of China (Taiwan) to share about Rovering in Malaysia at the National Rover Advancement Camp. As a guest speaker, I got the chance to talk about the badging scheme in Malaysia, the various youth programmes available for our Rovers and also the volunteering services our Rovers usually take part in. I also took this golden opportunity to talk about the Better World Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals, which Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia have been vigorously addressing for the past few years. I also took this opporunity to spread Malaysia's culture and also shared two of Malaysia;s famous Scout songs, namely 'Di Sini Senang' and 'Di Sini Kita Berkumpul'.
The 6-days camp in ChuShan, Nantou, Taiwan was an incredible experience as I met new friends, exchanged best practices and learnt many new things from their trainers and facilitators. Besides being able to spread a culture of peace, I also managed to share the Malaysian culture and also widened my horizons by experiencing the Taiwanese culture too. The 6-days camp was packed and tiring, but surely a memorable experience worth venturing.
