
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
The International Day of Peace will be observed around the world on 21st of September 2018 upon the declaration of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly as the day devoted to strengthen the ideals of peace, both within and among nations and people. The theme for this year's “Peace Day” celebration is “The Right to Peace – The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70,” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace.
It is celebrated in all parts in the Philippines... but highlighted at the Planas Garden, Elliptical Circle, Quezon City, hosted by the Quezon City Council through the National Capital Region (NCR) in cooperation with the National Office.
Participated in by Seven Hundred plus Scouts from all over the NCR; the program starts at 8 in the morning with a healthy competition of Drum and Lyre (Scouts as performers) and in the afternoon are Messengers of Peace activities which culminated by lighting a human Dove form using candles.
It was a half way success due to heavy rain that makes the event a blessing to everyone. it ended at around 8 in the evening.
