Nachung scouts of Sertena Primary School have learnt at least four traditional songs (boedra) through the course of four months Scouting program for the first semester. Nachungs know the choreography of the respective songs, tunes and lyrics. They were very excited to learn the traditional songs and dances even though most of the students in my school are Lhotsampa. To infuse such an important values and skills in Scouting program is indispensable. We have kept at least 30 minutes of every Saturday to learn the traditional songs and dances. The choreographer credit goes to our Non-Formal Instructor who were Scouts themselves once. I am proud of my 33 Nachungs for they are ever ready to take upon new challenges, opportunities and activities. By having on-going activities like this, I believe they will uphold our unique cultural and traditions bestowed upon us by our forefathers.
