INCLUSION & DIVERSITY CHALLENGE-"EXTENDING A HELPING HAND"
"A wonderful start to September whereby once again we reached out to two more families through the #InclusionandDiversityChallenge. Visiting these families is a reminder that we should be happy with what we have..."
Mr. Senikarawa is a young 25 year old boy who now spends his days within the four walls of his home. He developed a sickness whereby his head started to grow at a faster rate in comparision to the rest of the body. He has been facing many difficulties over the years. Since he has difficulty with mobility, he cannot go to the washroom by himself. He has to wear diapers full time. Due to his sickness, his brain functions have also not worked well since he developed this sickness. He therefore has speech problems. Coming from a family of four, it is quite difficult for the family to afford the finacial needs of Mr. Senikarawa. They have to use whatever they can afford, or whatever is given to them.
This project enabled us to visit this family and get to know more of the difficulties they are facing. We managed to help this family by providing diapers and a hair clipper to help the family with some of their cost.
Mr. Senikarawa could not contain his emotions when we gave him these items. Although he could not speak, the brightness in his eyes and his body language depicted his happiness.
