Improve the life of the Vulnerab Community

Scouts have observed Senior citizens and people with disability living on the street and under rooms having damaged roof covering and plastic walls which can not protect the family from wind, rain, flood, and warm and cold weather conditions. They can not be able to renovate their home due to a lack of finances, age and disability. the living condition of these vulnerable families inspired Scouts to take action and build a living room having a safe and comfortable space
The project was executed in Dire Dawa city. It is implemented by the resource mobilized from the community, government and factories. Collect construction material from factories such as cement, roof covering, and concrete blocks. Hardcore, sand and painting were brought by suppliers and finance by selling tickets. The construction phase required professional masons and carpenters for building the wall and roof covering, so we employ professionals supported by unskilled Scouts.
Scouts helped the vulnerable family to access and enjoy a safe and comfortable living home. from this project, a total of 20 persons living in 4 families have benefited.
Leadership, teamwork, and financial accounting system are the major learning from the project. The material collected from production factories is the result of effective communication and partnership between the Scouts and the company.
