During the month of ramadan we arranged for an Iftar mahfil. It is a religious program for Muslims. Scouts from other religions were also invited. This was a way of trying to bridge the gap between different religions and bring everyone closer together by learning about each other's religions. Many old members, present members and their guardians had been invited. The respected founder of our rover group Mohammed Habibul Alam Bir Protik sir (recipient of bronze wolf) was also present. There were also discussions between the rovers, their guardians and the scout leaders on how scouting is impacting young lives, how it can be made better and why each person had joined scouting. The guardians shared their opinions and the unit leaders cleared any confusion that the guardians had about scouting. I was part of the service team for this programme.
