Honoring the Mother Earth 22 April 2022
We are breathing because of our mother earth. Saving the earth saves our lives. Therefore initiating the cleaning campaign to create awareness to the people to be responsible of waste to protect our mother earth.
As our school located in a rural area I could see many innocent people not being responsible of their own waste. So in order to literate those innocent people and safe our mother earth I have taken up this project.
In order to literate those innocent people , We the scouts of Tang Central school had taken up cleaning campaign around the school as well as in the vicinity of our school covering about two square kilometers.
The adult leaders of the school had started our day by highlighting the theme of the Earth Day ‘Invest in Our Planet’.
Troops lead by one adult leader had conducted the cleaning task in the respective area assigned. The cleaning took approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
People in the vicinity of the school were the beneficiary of the cleaning task as they were also part of cleaning task/campaign. The areas were cleaned thoroughly and we had also created awareness on importance of managing and being responsible of one’s on waste and the impacts of it.
The impact of the campaign was seen immediately in the people as we had seen people segregating and managing the waste and also recycling some waste. Moreover less waste was seen in and around vicinity.
The clean campaign imparted an important message on the importance of preserving and protecting the Earth. I have learned that people need to be reminded to be responsible of our own actions in order not to bear consequences later.
The cleaning campaign helped to restore the aesthetic beauty of the environment which had been devastated by the waste. I commit to conduct more impactful activities by encouraging more volunteers and reach out to bigger area in the future.
