[HONG KONG] Dialogue with the Nature: a Train-the-trainer Programme
Our founder, Baden Powell, said "Nature study is the key activity in Scouting… The aim in Nature study is to develop a realisation of God the Creator, and to infuse a sense of the beauty of Nature." As a ever-evolving movement, we continuingly update our training scheme to keep young people interact with the Nature during their scouting life. However, the spiritual domain of appreciation of, and interaction with the Nature needed be enhanced so that young people could reflect the relationship between people and the Nature in a more comprehensive manner, and make scout activities become more connected with the Nature in a metropolitan setting. This also helps scout members to bring a sustainable environment for our next generation. Thus, the Leadership Training Institute of Scout Association of Hong Kong designed a series of training programme entitled "Dialogue with the Nature: a Train-the-trainer Programme". We expect that at the end of the Programm, scout members will become more aware of the relationship between themselves and the Nature and such awareness will be transformed as real actions, e.g. active participation in scouting and other environmental activities, and further enhance the image of scouting by demonstrating such environmental friendly actions in their own schools and communities. This programme is sponsored by World Organization of the Scout Movement - WOSM's Messenger of Peace Support Fund.
