Helping people after a tornado

After hearing and reading about the tornado either from tv or newspaper our scoutmaster asked if we wanted to go and help. We made a few telephone calls and received permission from the Red Cross to come out and help. Troop 61 went out to Harveyville and helped along with the many volunteers clean up the town. Troop 61 spent all of their 72 hours helping out an elderly couple who were in no shape to clean up the debris. We were part of many hundreds of volunteers who worked endlessly for months. We only spent the better part of a weekend but we made an impact on that families life.
