Now days, millions of people affected by conditions such as hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis, and liver cancer, it has become essential to educate people about the importance of liver health and preventive care. The program began with a brief inaugural session, during which Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sahu, a gastroenterologist at KIMS, Bhubaneswar, addressed the critical functions of the liver and the rising incidence of liver-related ailments. His talk emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and timely medical screening, in maintaining liver health. An interactive session with students added an engaging and educational component to the celebration.
The programme reinforced the importance of liver health check-ups even in the absence of symptoms, especially for high-risk individuals. Participants learned how campaigns like Global Fatty Liver Day can effectively communicate complex health messages in a simple, engaging manner.
