Heal the World, Hail Longer !
Mother Earth is currently facing a huge environmental crisis due to the carelessness of us, humans. One of the greatest gifts we can give Mother Earth is the gift of life, Plant Life. I think everyone should try to heal the Earth as much as they could because the main reason the Earth is this current predicament in the first place is because of us.
This "Heal the Earth" project started at the Royal International School, Kurunegala. Our scout group gathered one plant per person and started a plantation in the backyard of the the school.
The one who gets the most out this is project is the Mother Earth. Then most beneficial party after the Mother Earth is the Agricultural Science students of the school. There are about 100 Agri-Science students in the school, all of them frequently uses this plantation to polish their theoretical knowledge and life skills.
I learned how hard the life of a farmer is. I have a new found respect for the farmers who are the back bone of the agricultural community. The satisfaction you get by watching the plants you sweated to nourish blossom is the ultimate euphoria.
