Harvester PS reading changes lives

This project was part of the Scouts curriculum to test literature knowledge and support classroom learning. The goal was to develop literacy, comprehension, and confidence while making reading interactive and enjoyable for learners.
Learners read and wrote stories, practiced dictionary use, and discussed meaning with guidance from Scouts. Activities fostered comprehension, spelling, pronunciation, and self-expression, while Yeboneers provided patience and encouragement for hesitant learners.
Scouts learned that patience and careful explanation help learners engage and improve independently. Activities reinforced reading, comprehension, and confidence. Challenges included initial learner reluctance, but structured support made participation enjoyable and effective.
