GROWTH THROUGH AFTER SCHOOL SCOUTING ACTIVITIES
Scouting at this moment is positioned as the biggest youth non-formal education movement in the country, however, it lacking recognition, institutional support and outreach in smaller communities. Main motivation for the project was to position Scouting as program for non-formal education approved by Ministry for education and implemented in elementary schools nation wide.
Through the network of elementary schools and school teachers, we believe that we could scale up and be more inclusive.
Project is implemented in communities where Scouting is not existing. In more details, its implemented in partnership with municipalities and elementary schools in those municipalities where young people dont have such opportunities in comparation with their peers from the capitol or other bigger cities.
Using the best practices for community outreach and growth in partnership with formal education system, the team developed concept for School Scouting.
Until this moment we reached more then 960 young people in 7 new communities where Scouting was not existing. Through partnership with local municipalities and elementary school teachers, Scouting program is available for small communities and have the same opportunities as their peers from the capitol and bigger cities.
In the next period, through active communication, program innovation and capacity building events, the program will be even more inclusive and accessible for more young people.
