480 hours community service realised by Scouts from different districts of the island through the project of Messenger of Peace for the Environment on 6th February 2016 in some partners. Over 1,000 trees mainly endemics were planted along the motorway known as Terre Rouge –Verdun link road. The Chief Commissioner , Jaywunt Tannoo giving kick start, has pointed out the contribution of Scouts to the protection of the Environment is in dissociable and recalled that the first tree planting campaign was held at the Baden Powell House, Trianon . Each participant to this project is an ambassador of MOP he said. The Ministry of Environment, Sustainable Development and Disaster and Beach Management through the Honourable Raj Dayal was the major partner to this event together with the Skal club Mauritius through its President Mr Ibrahim Ayoub who sponsored the trees
