Green Tides, Stronger Shores
This project was inspired by the urgent need to protect our coastal ecosystems and empower young people to take meaningful action for the environment. We wanted to create a hands-on initiative where the community—especially the youth—could come together, plant hope, and grow a greener, more sustainable future.
We executed the project by mobilizing scouts, students, teachers, and community volunteers for a one-day mangrove planting activity. With strong collaboration from local schools and institutions, we planted 890 mangrove seedlings at Banana Beach, Tagum City. Despite challenges like heat, mud, and limited tools, teamwork and shared commitment made the activity a success.
We learned that community collaboration and youth involvement are powerful forces for environmental action. Despite physical challenges, the dedication and teamwork of participants proved that with the right mindset and shared purpose, we can overcome obstacles and make a lasting impact. We also realized the importance of preparedness, resource management, and hands-on education in fostering environmental responsibility.
