Green Scout is a reforestation and afforestation project aiming at planting 6000 Trees Mashonaland east and some parts of Harare where trees have been cit for various purposes without replanting them. From this project communities will learn how and why it is good to plant trees. The recruitment of more scouts in these areas and environmental best practices education through 6 workshops by various partnering orgnisations, will help sustain these trees. Green scout will initiate with an official launch in the Capital city before more trees are planted along the 80km-100km peace walk scheduled for July this year. Great works have been done in preparation of this prestigeous project which will benefit lives. 65 Scouts from Mhangura Primary Scout group have managed to setup a nursery of 1000+ tree seedlings as a contribution to the main project, Masvingo rovers (7) gathered 150 Trees ready for planting,The same with 78th Rover scouts (12) who set up a nursery of 1600 tree seedlings on a 4 day camp.
