GREEN SCOUT (CITY CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN)
60 Scouts supported by Environmental Management Agency, National junior council association , Zimbabwe United Nations and other environmental school clubs gathered today at Harare City Center to sensitise the public of environmental good practices. This has been set to increase scouting's social impact by engaging the young people in community activities. The exercise started at 8am and ended at 14hrs after a another clean-up the park exercise at Ruwa Scout Park (the next Africa scouts day venue). About 3 tonnes of litter have been managed with 2 tonnes in the city and 1 tonne in the park. During the clean-ups about 500 flyers where distributed, 500 non scouts reached and 700 recipients of electronic flyers across the nation. Both genders where represented through out the activity.
