“Free Being Me” activity was successfully organised at Hawal, Srinagar from 07th to 09th March 2015 in which 223 Scouts and Guides along with 99 Rovers, Rangers and Unit leaders from Jammu & Kashmir State actively participated. Shri Suhal Jaan, Chairman, Apple international play School, Hawal Srinagar inaugurated the Programme. On this occasion Free Being Me Cap was distributed to Rovers, Rangers, Unit Leaders and invitee Guest. All the participants enjoyed and actively participated in “Free Being Me” activity based on Introduction of “Free Being Me”, Curriculum concept, Beauty around the world, Image Myth, where does the Image Myth, Air Brushing, Cost of Image Myth and personal challenge brief – Media detective, Friendship Note, Beauty Bubbles, Quick come backs, Badge it!, Mission, Role Model Games, Personal challenge, Mirror-Mirror, No more Body talk, definition and role of peer educator. They were very much interested and excited to know - what is “Free Being Me”. At the end of the activity all participant were confident and knew how to improve the body confidence and Self Esteem. After completion of the workshop they started feeling happy & free from appearance anxiety related to Body. The Unit Leaders were trained as FREE BEING ME Trainer and Rovers/ Ranger as Peer Educators. Scouts and Guides Participated in BADGE ACTIVITY after completing five sessions and took action project, everyone has earned Free Being Me Badge and Certificate. On the occasion of the opening ceremony of Free Being Me activity for Scouts and Guides Mr. Zahid Ahmad lone, Superintendent of Police, Hazratbag, Srinagar, Mr. Md. Ashraf Khan, Chairman, Green Land Group of Institution, Hawal and Mr. Showkat Chairman of Green Way School, Alartang were present and blessed the unit leaders, Rovers, Rangers, Scouts and Guides. Mr. Zahid Ahmad lone was highly impressed and appreciated the Scouts and Guides for participating in such type of progamme. Mr. Imran Khan is appointed as state Coordinator of Free Being Me Programme for Jammu &n Kashmir State. The Programme was conducted under the leadership of Mr. Bablu Goswami, Regional Organising Commissioner (Scout), Northern Region with the help of Mr. Bashir Ahmed Dar, Hqr. Commissioner, Mr. Basharat Saleem and Mr. Imran Khan, State Coordinator, Free Being Me Project.
