Food for Peace - Learn from starving

Food is always the basic need for survival. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) statistics, as much as 1/3 of edible foodstuff went to wate in the past years, equaling to 1.3 billion tons, an incredible number. In the mean time, more than 1 billion fellows around us starve. Tens of thousands children lose their lives due to lack of nutrition and food per week! Sunfun Scout Group launched Jota Joti earlier this month, to echo Messenger of Peace initiative promoted by World Scout Organization. A series of activities led scouts experience, understand and reflect on the issue of Food Waste. We urge the community to cut down food waste, cherish food, get food locally to avoid loss of food (also the use of energy) from transportation. Peace starts from oursevles. We continue to play our parts in repsecting lives by respecting food.
