FOOD FOR LIFE PROJECT

FOOD FOR LIFE PROJECT

Scouts in the Northern region of Ghana has started the Food for Life Project. This is to help reduce poverty, food insecurity and malnutrition. It is also to curb migration of young people to the southern part of the country. The " Ghana Experience Team" of Dutch Scouts took an interest in this project and has been of tremendous support. The project which is in three phases include: - Rice farming (May- November) - Vegetable farming (November - April) - Guinea fowl rearing (all seasons) They also built up a Guinea fowl breeding shed. Hopefully the project will extend to other regions in future.
