FOOD DRIVE FOR THE NEEDY- REGULAR SUNDAY DRIVE
I was highly inspired from the Robinhood Army, a zero-fund organisation that provides food to the needy. Its motto "SERVE THE HUNGRY CITIZEN" motivated me a lot to work and do something for the society.
On Sunday, I along with all the other robins decided to arrange the entire monthly ration of the Apnapan Girls Home which was located in North Barrackpore. I was entrusted with the task of contacting them and asking theie requirements so that we can provide them with the same accordingly. The entire drive was sponsored by one of our robins, Priyanka Chakraborty along with her sister, Namita Chakraborty to commemorate the death anniversary of their mother, Parvati Chakraborty.
By carrying out the same, we were able to provide the monthly ration comprising flour, pulses, puffed rice, mustard oil, apples, chocolates, fried rice and eggs to nearly 310 kids living in Apnapan Ashram, North Barrackpore, Kolkata, West Bengal.
I've learnt that when you donate food or feed the needy for atleast a day or two, the amount of satisfaction you get from within is immeasurable. You also get to motivate many of the people living around you so that some day in the future they can also do something for the society.
