First steps: Ticket to Life Interamerica
Our motivation is the transformative power of Scouting and its capacity to reach children and youth living in vulnerable situations. I wanted to help build bridges between the Scout Movement and communities where opportunities are limited, ensuring that every young person—regardless of their background—can experience belonging, learning, and hope through non-formal education.
The project was executed through close collaboration with national Scout organizations in four countries. My role involved technical accompaniment, monitoring, and coordination with local leaders to ensure consistent progress. I focused on strengthening partnerships, building local capacity, and supporting the creation of safe and sustainable spaces for children to engage in Scout activities that foster personal growth and community transformation.
I learned that meaningful change happens when local ownership is prioritized and communities are empowered to lead their own processes. The project reaffirmed the importance of listening deeply to those we serve, adapting methodologies to each context, and valuing small, human connections as the foundation for long-term impact. Flexibility, patience, and empathy became essential tools in this journey.
