”A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” Marcus Garvey Starting from these words, a group of 102 scouts and leaders from all four cardinal points of Moldova explored on Sunday, March 19th the Historical-Architectural Complex Manuc Bey, located in the heart of Hancesti, consisting of Palace, Hunting Castle, Countess Dolgoruky’s House, Iamandi House and fence. The complex is named after Emmanuel Mirzaian- politician of Armenian origin, who was named as Manuc Bey- Little Prince. The entire complex was built in the second half of the 19th century, in 1862 and is a gem of an example of architecture executed in Italian Renaissance and French style. Constantin, Group Scout Cimbrisor: "It was a special expedition that allowed us to discover beautiful places with a history of hundreds years. From this you can learn to combine perfectly different cultures and tend to leave a better world. It was a day where every participant sang scout songs, we had fun games and not least I met my friends." The event was part of the Project "Scout Update" Messengers of Peace taking place in Moldova.
