
First Meghalaya Scout/Guide Education Congress
The First Meghalaya Scout/Guide Education Congress which was held from 24th to 27th September 2014 is a replication of the First World Scout Education Congress (WSEC) at the local level, the first in India. Drawing its organisation on the lines of the 1st WSEC, the event in the state saw active participation from young people and adults alike, practicing inter-generational dialogues in practical. The Congress was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Governor and Patron of the State Association and closed by the august of the National Commissioner - Sh. B.I. Nagrale. There were 200 onsite participants and 457 onsite participants. The Congress also saw active participation from the online participants on Facebook. The Congress were able to identify trends affecting our Movement and the Education System and were able to draft steps for actions by both the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the State's Education Department.
The Congress also saw the participation of Educational Experts from the North Eastern Hill University, the Directorates of Higher & Technical Education and School Education and Literacy, The Directorate of Educational Research and Training and the College of Teachers Education, who came and acted as Observers and will be submitting their findings from the Congress to their respective departments and to us at the State Headquarters.

The success of the Congress can only measured after the actions were taken on the Course of Action charted in the Congress.
